TEAM CONTEMPORARY/LITERATURE/NONFICTION 1. Maisy Card: a book that takes place over one character’s life span or an intergenerational narrative 2. Patsy: 2 queer characters embark on a journey together, bonus points if it’s a tangible journey such as a road trip 3. Nnedi Okorafor: a disabled character embarks on a journey or a book by a disabled Black author 4. Group book: The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives by Lola Shoneyin **Caveat - at least one of the books must be a non US/UK setting

I'm so excited to be doing this readathon alongside some very great individuals. I'm hoping we get to read a whole bunch of books that will help uplift black authors! I'm tagging the other creators below as well.

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a good day! I am participating in #blackathon2021 I am so excited about participating in my very first readathon on booktube! This amazing readathon was created by Jessie over at Bowties and Books and I am so thankful for all the work that they put into making blackathon2021 so exciting! Along with the readathon I am going to try to read a book by a black author in all genres and this includes contemporary, romance, fantasy (maybe Thriller...but don't hold me to that.)

The Georgetown Art Center presents 'The Black Women’s Epoch,' an exhibition of works by We Here Collective. Through the exhibition, the group hopes to emphasize the perspectives and stories of Black American women to show who they are and how they have always been instrumental in shaping our country and our history. The exhibition is on view from April 2 - May 9, 2021.
